Once you hit your range, don't be afraid to rack the weight sooner and add more weight.  If you competing and you're just trying to get to failure, go to failure.  If you're trying to get stronger and go heavier, judge your amount of energy expenditure. When you go really heavy, you also want to increase your rest time taking 2 - 2-1/2 minutes between sets.

Start with a rep range of 8-10 and add more weight from there. You can also add in negatives or partial reps as well.
